Several users recalled 5.4 million garment steamers after severe burns

After HSN received reports about the discharge, spraying and leakage of hot water while the equipment was in use, it voluntarily recalled 5.4 million hand-held garment steamers, posing a risk of burns.

In a notice on Wednesday, the Consumer Product Safety Commission stated that HSN has received 227 reports of the leakage of Joy/JM brand My Little Steamer and My Little Steamer Go Mini steamers, including 106 reports of burns.

The US Consumer Product Safety Commission reported that 8 of them caused second-degree burns and six caused third-degree burns.

These devices are sold online on HSN.com and the HSN TV network. From January 2002 to December 2020, they are also sold online in stores across the country or various retailers (including Amazon, Target, Bed Bath & Beyond, Wal-Mart, and Lowes), with individual prices ranging from US$10 to US$30 In between, the combined price is between US$20 and US$50.

CPSC stated that these appliances come in a variety of colors, and the recalled models have flat or triangular steamer heads with the product name printed on the side.

The company is refunding customers who bought the recalled appliances. Customers can call the toll-free number 855-654-0942 or contact HSN online between 9 am and 9 pm Eastern Time, Monday to Friday.
