The Wednesday before Thanksgiving is the biggest travel day of the week, and this year is no exception.

Alabama's AAA predicts that more than 53 million Americans will travel 50 miles or more on holiday weekends.

Therefore, Alabama spokesperson Clay Ingram's AAA stated that traffic congestion on roads or airports is expected.

Ingram said: "We know that for most of the other holidays this year, we are very close to the situation before all these COVID things appeared in 2019." "There are still some people who don't like to go out with other people, which is understandable. Yes, so that’s why we haven’t fully recovered to pre-pandemic levels, but this is a good start."

In Alabama, the average price of gasoline per gallon is hovering around $3.16, which is below the seven-year high we hit a few weeks ago.

Ingram said that as Christmas approaches, he expects this number to decrease further.
